Community activities at the Park

Presented by WA Child Safety Services, we invite you to participate in this workshop to learn valuable personal safety skills and strategies that can help empower children and keep them safe from abuse. You will leave the workshop with practical activity ideas and conversation starters. Ticket price is $15 which includes a take home resource book. A light supper will be provided from 6:00pm, with the workshop starting at 6:30pm. *This workshop is not suitable for children to attend.

Community stall event that invites community members to make a pledge on how they can support families to keep children safe. These pledges would be written on cut out hands and displayed behind the stall. The stall will also have colouring in sheets for children.

Partner agencies and Department of Communities will hold an information stall which will also include arts/crafts and sausage sizzle

An inaugural South West Young People Leaving Care Action Forum. The forum will bring together agency partners who are engaged in providing services to young people leaving care or in after care services.

The Balga Ave project is a community initiative focusing on meaningful change on one street, Balga Ave. The aim is to challenge service providers in the area to look for new ways of connecting, identifying issues and building on goals made for the community by the community. It is hoped an open conversation, driven by the people of Balga will build belongingness and a shared sense of spirit in the street.

The Catholic Archdiocese Safeguarding Office is set to launch its 2020 Child Protection Week competition for secondary school teenagers aged 12 to 18 years. The competition invites children to create a two-minute media clip drawing on the necessity of “putting children’s needs first”.
