Get involved - Ideas for sports and recreation groups

National Child Protection Week 1-7 September 2019

Get Involved > Ideas for sports and recreation groups

NAPCAN invites clubs across Australia to support National Child Protection Week this September.

In addition to the promotional suggestions on our Get Involved page, you may like to:

  • Use the week as an opportunity to have conversations with staff and volunteers about the importance of keeping children safe and prioritising their needs. See our staff development suggestions and topic ideas  <link> https://www.napcan.org.au/get-involved-tips-for-staff-events-and-professional-development/
  • Organise a display in a common area using our posters or some of the Children’s Activity artwork on our Get Involved page.
  • Organise an event to e.g. morning tea, BBQ for families, information evening, or family fun day during the week (don’t forget to register your event on our website). When you bring families together you help to build the social connections that children and parents need.

For general information about how to get involved with National Child Protection Week and to download the resources mentioned above, visit our Get Involved page at: https://www.napcan.org.au/ncpw-get-involved/

If you are interested in professional development on creating child safe organisations, please see our training calendar for more information about our workshops. Note that FREE workshops are available in Queensland and the Northern Territory. Alternatively, we can provide quotes for onsite training.
