NAPCAN invites you to train as a facilitator in an innovative new protective behaviours program for children aged 3-7 years.
This workshop outlines the six-session program, which has been developed in the Northern Territory by NAPCAN, in partnership with other key NT organisations.
The program is designed to be relevant across urban, rural and remote communities. It is based on animal stories and aims to:
promote adult responsibility to keep children safe.
build resilience within young children
facilitate discussion and learning around personal and community safety for children gather information from children about what makes them feel safe, and
promote a whole-of-community approach to keeping children safe and prioritising their safety and wellbeing.
This free facilitator workshop is part of a trial of the program and its resources. It will cover key elements of protective behaviours education and develop participant skills and confidence to implement the program. NAPCAN will be keen to receive feedback from organisations on the training, resources and program implementation.
