SAFER COMMUNITIES FOR CHILDREN uses bush animal stories to support children aged around 3-10 years to learn about safety, express their feelings, and share what helps them feel secure and safe in their families and communities.
Developed in the Northern Territory, SCFC aims to build resilience, confidence, emotional literacy and help-seeking skills in children.
It also reinforces the collective role that we all have to listen to children and keep them safe.
Visit our National SCFC page to learn more about the resources, protective behaviours and the SCFC approach.
On this NT page you can:
Register for a free SCFC workshop in the NT, supported by the Northern Territory Government.
Join us as we explore the SCFC materials which you can adapt and use in your work with children and families. Learn how the SCFC approach can fit within a child safeguarding approach in your organisation and community. Together, we can work to ensure that every child, in every community, is free from harm, every day.
Upon completion of the full day workshop and return of the post-training survey, you will be given access to a range of electronic resources to support you in using Safer Communities for Children stories and resources. You will also be able to purchase printed copies of the Safer Communities for Children kit at a discounted price
