SUMMARY:Nambucca Valley Poster Competition
DESCRIPTION:At St Mary’s Primary School in Bowraville we believe that children and young people’s voices are crucial to understanding how the community needs to respond. The Nambucca Valley poster competition is aimed to reach every parent\, community member and service provider. \nThe competition is open to all school aged children and young people in the Nambucca Valley. Each entrant is to use the child protection week theme to let us know what they think\, feel and need by designing an A4 poster. Each artist can choose to express themselves how they wish; they can get creative with either paint\, pencils\, collage\, comic strips\, affirmations\, digital design or whatever their imaginations can think up. \nThe posters will be displayed in various locations in the Nambucca Valley and digitally on the St Mary’s Primary School website throughout the whole of September. Local service providers will be choosing four finalists for each school stage and two finalists for the preschool category. The Nambucca Valley Mayor Rhonda Hoban will judge the winners for each category on the 13th September. There will be a prize for each stage winner. The biggest prize for all is that children and young people’s voices will be heard.\n\n*Covid restrictions will determine the location of the winner announcement and how many can be in attendance. The options being at St Mary’s School or at the Nambucca Valley Council Chambers.\n\nTimeline:\n\nEntries close: 4pm Friday 3rd September\nPosters displayed in venues across the valley from: Monday 6th September\nWinners to be announced: 10am Monday 13th September\nPrizes to be presented between: Tuesday 14th – Tuesday 21st September (based on COVID restrictions)
