SUMMARY:What does a community need for every child to thrive?
DESCRIPTION:What does a community need for every child to thrive?  Learn about some of the unexpected factors that shape how kids do in life.\nTo treat all of Australia’s children fairly\, we need to make sure every family and community has what kids need to thrive and be healthy. \nNot every child or community has what they need. And not everyone thinks about children’s wellbeing as a responsibility for communities and society\, not just families. \nOur understanding of what children need to thrive is constantly adapting as our world changes around us. As we gain knowledge\, we see the connections and the responsibilities that we all have\, to make sure our young people can live well and achieve their potential. \nIn this webinar we’ll venture into fresh discussions about how we think about child protection to discuss: \n\nWhat children and young people need to thrive – in the evidence and in their own voices\nHow using ARACY’s wellbeing framework The Nest can help us see the bigger picture\nWhy we need to pay attention to public attitudes and systemic structures if we want to improve outcomes for children\nHow children are affected by often overlooked factors such as access to stable housing or other supports in their neighbourhoods\n\nA panel of experts will introduce us to some of the unexpected roles that different parts of society play in boosting child wellbeing. And leave us with thoughts on how we can all support and share responsibility for all children in Australia. \nSpeakers:\nLeanne McLean\, Tasmania’s Commissioner for Children and Young People\nPenny Dakin\, CEO\, ARACY\nSister Brigid Arthur\, Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project\nKate Colvin\, Everybody’s Home Campaign
