DESCRIPTION:Shifting the Paradigm Webinar: Protecting and promoting the\nrights\, safety\, and wellbeing of children and young people\nat risk of\, or experiencing\, child sexual exploitation \nJodie’s presentation will:\n• Explore the relevance of children’s rights to preventing and responding to child sexual\nexploitation\n• Summarise the ACT human rights landscape and its relevance to decision-making\n• Discuss the tensions articulated by decision-makers in seeking to balance children’s\nrights in situations of significant safety risk\n• Reflect on the limitations of responses that are not established within an appropriately\ncontextualised children’s rights framework. \nJodie Griffiths-Cook\, ACT Public Advocate and Children and Young People Commissioner \nIn her role as ACT Public Advocate\, Jodie is responsible for\nmonitoring services for the protection of children and young\npeople (amongst other things). She actively advocates for improved\nresponses to child sexual exploitation both locally and nationally\, with\na particular focus on improving disruption efforts in respect of adult\nperpetrators and minimising responses that limit the rights of children and young people. \nLink to register: Webinar Registration – Zoom
