SUMMARY:Mudjin Mudung Community Day
DESCRIPTION:Together\, we can build a future where all of OUR children have the opportunities to grow up safe in their families\, strong in their identities\, and connected to their cultures. \nOver 200 years of dispossession and dislocation – along with today’s outdated systems – means that many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children have been displaced from accessing their culture. \n\n\n\n\nIt is our responsibility as a community to keep our kids safe and decide the best future for them. In Western Sydney\, 47% of children and young people in foster care are Aboriginal. Only 23% of these kids are managed by culturally appropriate Aboriginal agencies. We must fight for a future where our kids can grow up safe at home with family. \nOur kids need us to do better. Child Protection Week is about educating and engaging our families and communities to help break the cycle which has impacted our people for generations. We know that our children thrive when they live with their own families and communities who have a positive sense of identity and culture. \n\n\nJOIN US FOR A DAY OF FUN AND CULTURE\n\nWe will be so excited to see everyone there! \nThe day will include: \n\nWeaving\nStalls\nFree Sausage Sizzle\nElders Tent\n…and some great activities for the whole family!\n\nThere is no entry fee\, we only ask that you register that you are interested in coming along. Registration will be open soon! \nStart time will be 10am\, finishing up at 2pm \nParking available in surrounding area to Kimberwalli \n  \n\n\n\n\nINTERESTED IN HAVING A STALL?\n\nWe are accepting Expressions of Interest for stallholders NOW\, but act quick because spots are limited and EOIs close on 12/09/2022! Availability for stalls will be first come first served\, we will be in touch to notify you if your stall is approved! \nStalls come at no cost\, however you will be required to provide own tent\, table\, chairs ect. and Public Liability Insurance \nSubmit your EOI today
