DESCRIPTION:Child Safe Organisations – Playing Your Part in Creating Child Safe Organisations \n  \nDescription: \nAll children have the right to be safe and to feel safe all of the time. A child safe organisation values children and is committed to treating their needs and their safety as the top priority. It means taking serious proactive steps to prevent physical\, sexual or emotional abuse\, neglect or any kind of harm. Child Safe Organisations move beyond safety and demonstrates a commitment to children’s/young people’s wellbeing. They are committed to creating environments where children/young people experience genuine engagement and agency\, can thrive\, reach their full potential\, and talk about their worries safely and openly. \nIn light of the Royal Commission we know that it is critical to embed a child safe culture into every single organisation that has anything to do with children or young people\, either directly or indirectly. This means that every member of an organisation needs to understand their role in proactively keeping children safe\, helping them thrive and preventing child abuse and neglect. \nThis interactive workshop covers: \n\nBackground of child safe organisation development\nEstablishing and maintaining a child safe culture\nChild inclusive practice\nHow to create child safe and friendly environments\nKey elements of a child safe organisation\n\nDuration: 9.30am-3pm \nCatering: Tea and coffee will be provided. \nThis session runs from 9.30-3.00pm with allocated breaks including a lunch break for all participants.  As the workshop is delivered free of charge to the community\, we are not able to offer catering\, therefore we ask that you BYO your lunch or make yourself familiar with the location of the training to buy lunch. Please be mindful that fridge might not be available depends on the training location. \nWho should attend? \n\nYou should attend this workshop if you work in an organisation that deals directly or indirectly with children.\nAll members of the organisation need to attend because we all have a responsibility to help create a culture of child safety in your organisation.\nYou are encouraged to attend this workshop even if you are already attending another NAPCAN workshop about mandatory reporting.\n\nCost: FREE \n**A maximum of 5 people per organisation can register per workshop** \nNote re venues: We are still confirming venues for some of our workshops.
