Participants will learn key skills in identifying and responding to concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children including:
- Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect – rights and responsibilities
- Risk and Protective Factors in children, families and communities
- Key Child Abuse Prevention Strategies
- Local, national and international tools to engage and support vulnerable families
- Overview of additional Training available through NAPCAN
- Tools and Resources to Prevent Child Abuse & Neglect – Engaging Vulnerable Kids and Families
Participants will learn about key tools and resources to work with children and families including:
- Local, national and international tools to engage and support vulnerable families
- Key Child Abuse Prevention Strategies
- Brief overview of Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect – rights and responsibilities
- Overview of additional Training available through NAPCAN
- Information Sharing Workshop
Participants will learn about key changes to the Care and Protection of Children Act 2007 around the sharing of information including:
- What information sharing is
- How it will impact your work
- Who can share information
- What type of information should be shared
- How it impacts on your existing obligations such as mandatory reporting
- Consent confidentiality
- Recording of information
- Resources available to assist with implementing the new changes to your workplace
