Our Organisation

NAPCAN has a proud history of achievement.  Co-founded in 1987 by Rosemary Sinclair AO and Christine Stewart, NAPCAN has made a significant contribution to the wellbeing of Australia's children.

Today NAPCAN has a modern corporate structure as a single national company limited by guarantee.

NAPCAN is governed by a voluntary Board.  The Board operates with the support of its Advisory Committees and Councils and an extensive network of professionals, practitioners and concerned individuals who all donate their time and expertise to support NAPCAN's mission.

Led by the CEO, Richard Cooke a team of professional Program, Policy and Advocacy staff are employed across the country.  This dedicated team brings a broad range of expertise and experience to the design and implementation of NAPCAN's strategies for change.

As a charity NAPCAN has both DGR (deductible gift recipient) and PBI (public benevolent institution) status with the Australian Tax Office.
