Hawaiian's Shopping Centres are working towards becoming Child Friendly The partnership between Hawaiian and NAPCAN, and launched on September 1, will see Hawaiian's four suburban shopping centres working towards becoming Child Friendly and Child Safe.
The Park Shopping Centre in Victoria Park, Bassendean Village Shopping Centre, Noranda Palms Shopping Centre, and The Mezz in Mount Hawthorn hope to be endorsed by NAPCAN as working towards becoming the first Child Friendly and Child Safe shopping centres in Australia .
Initiatives will include specially trained liaison NAPCAN and Hawaiian staff being available in-centre on a regular basis to provide support and resources to parents, implementation of a Kids Task Force in each centre, as well as positive reinforcement of health, hygiene and safety messages communicated in all centres.
Hawaiian's Chief Executive Officer Russell Gibbs is proud to sponsor the initiative. "Hawaiian is committed to family and community values and we see working together with NAPCAN as an important initiative in helping to make our shopping centres a safe place for our young people." said Mr. Gibbs.
At the launch, Marian Gard, President of NAPCAN WA said. 'We applaud Hawaiian's philosophy of engaging communities dynamically at the grass roots level and providing safe communities where children are welcomed and hopefully protected from harm.'
