Kids CAN NSW is developing Child Friendly Communities by involving young people in the process of deciding what it is that makes their community more child friendly.
The Kids CAN program aims to link business and the general public more directly with local community activities and initiatives that have been credited by kids as beneficial, supportive and, most importantly, child friendly. The program is promoted through Child Friendly Australia MORE

For 2007-2008 NAPCAN NSW has thrown out a challenge to Local Government throughout the State to work towards becoming Child friendly Cities in line with UNICEF's blueprint. Within one week of launching the campaign, more than thirty local councils have responded with a definite interest in getting involved MORE
The Every Kid campaign is an initiative of seven key NSW community service agencies called the Every Kid Coalition. This includes the Aboriginal Child Family Community Care Secretariat (AbSec ), Associations of Children's Welfare Agencies (ACWA), Family Advocacy, NSW Council of Social Services (NCOSS), NSW Family Services Inc (FamS), Shelter NSW and UnitingCare Burnside.
The campaign aims to influence NSW government policy in five key areas including dental health, education, affordable housing, child protection and out-of-home care. Within these areas, Aboriginal health and wellbeing are of particular importance. These areas have been defined by the Every Kid coalition as those in which urgent improvement is required MORE
'Getting to Know Children's Services in NSW' is a brochure compiled in response to questions asked by CALD parents from our many childrens services information sessions. This brochure is translated into ten languages- Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Korean, Arabic, Dinka (a Sudanese language), Thai, Bengali, Spanish, and Russian. The brochures are suitable for display at community centres or for any community workers, family support workers, bilingual workers to provide to families as required MORE
